Image
Fatola Israel_Through Experience 2019 When we get to the point where our paths point in different directions and we have to choose what yellow road to pick; above us,the same sky will hover. Fatola Israel_Through Experience 2019 Details Your footsteps will match mine as the brown hue spread over our skin. Same skin same sky. Different walks, different paths. Cracked feet will tell of our journey, or would it be the click clack of heels? Chapped lips will break to tell chaps of the tale, or would it be smacking glossy lips? We live and die but only connected dots of memory in history will form our lived experience, and we have...

Through Experience - Characterizng our moments in History (Article) Part 1 of 2

You and I Iive knowing that we - and our loved ones - will eventually die. This shadow of death forces us to contemplate what to do with our fleeting time on Earth. Many choose religion to be saved through Faith.  Some even go as far as using Logic and Reasoning: by trying to understand ourselves and the world we inhabit. At the drop of a hat, how do we now possibly explain the root cause of Xenophobia? how do we react to the Xenophobic violence against foreigners (particularly other African Nationals) in South Africa? How should we behave and co-exist with one another? How can we  describe the state of coexistence amongst Africans, or Let me expand it a bit further: between Humans and Nature? Humans might have burned some parts of the Amazon for thousands of years, but the fire records analyzed indicate the scale of forest disturbance in the 21st century is probably unprecedented. Towards this end,  how do we digest our understanding of...

LOST - The Narrative and Expressive Properties

Image
"Lost" Complete Drawing by Fatola Israel The versatility of shades as seen in "Lost" aims to create the illusion of three-dimensionality as provided by the graceful play of light across the surface of the little boy's face, stretched further to the lines of the fabric  and the folded hands, which in themselves exude a certain emotion in their varying thickness, densities and values.  Some of these attributes are more pronounced, clearly defined, while others cast into the shadows. "Lost" fabric details - Drawing by Fatola Israel By replicating reality in the finest detail, I have simply pursued Truth, in an attempt to reveal the Truth about how the world looks, and how it works. This Project "Through Heaven's Eye's" reaches outward to describe truths of "others". Truth about humanity - by puting myself in their position, and trying to reflect with a great honesty, their innermost acclaim. experience...
