Another dead chick?
Or is it just an early bird
Fair freckled perfectly laid eggs
Hatch open on an early Saturday morning
Weak tiny shaky legs
Come out of the debris running,
Into the still dew wet grass, into a turd,
Or is it their sister bird?

 Jack Brown came with jack boots at dawn,
Jogging across the lawn
With his gathering bucket, to his hand latched,
Four chicks hatched,
One "hatched" a little before others at dawn.
